Police Activities League (PAL)

Police Activities League (PAL) is a nonprofit 501 (3)(c) organization developed in the fall of 2007. There are three main goals of PAL:
  • To provide quality activities for the youth of our community
  • To provide local youth with focus and direction, helping them become responsible citizens
  • To establish positive relationships between youth, police, and the community
Meeting Common Ground
PAL accomplishes this through providing a common meeting ground for police, citizens, and youth of Shafter in the area of athletics, educational, and recreational activities. We provide children with a safe place to gather and interact for youth sporting events and other enriching youth activities that take place in a safe and supervised environment. The Shafter Police Department in conjunction with the Richland School District commenced the program in an opening ceremony on Friday, April 4, 2008.

The program not only fosters and encourages youth in American principles, but principle and traditions of sportsmanship, good will, and friendship.

PAL LogoPAL Logo
PAL Logo was designed by Officer Alex Mora with permission to use the Richland Junior High motto, "Believe, Achieve, Succeed" from its originator, Dr. Nancy Thompson. Thank you both for your leadership on behalf of our kids!

Program Activities
Although the primary focus at this time is the boxing program, PAL is working on providing computer access, a library, and an after-school study atmosphere.

We will also have a play room with Foosball, a pool table (already donated), ping-pong, air hockey, and interactive video games. We plan on beginning competitive programs of basketball, volleyball, and baseball, along with our exciting boxing program.
